About me

Hi there! I’m Petra, the human behind this blog.

I’m a mechanical engineer who loves to travel and still believes in dragons and goodness. When I’m not travelling or doing my PhD, I like to adventure in my kitchen, learn new things and read a good book. I also love to eat cheese and walk everywhere. More about me

My Dutch work adventure has come to an end, so let My Dutch work adventure has come to an end, so let's finish it the way we started - with tulips.🌷I was actually really productive for my PhD, I met a lot of cool people, saw a lot interesting places and I even managed to stick to my budget, so all in all, it's been a great month. I'll miss the fancy punctual public transport system, but I definitely won't miss all the plastic packaging and fried food.🙈 I'll start writing up all the new blog posts soon, but until then, tell me: what was your impression of the Netherlands and would you like to visit?

Long time no feed post, so hello from the Netherla Long time no feed post, so hello from the Netherlands where I'll be doing a work mobility thing at University of Twente for a month.🌷 It's tulip season, the sun is out and groceries here are surprisingly cheaper than in Slovenia, but mostly I'm just super glad to be abroad again. 😍 You can follow along on my stories and everything will eventually end up on the blog too, so keep an eye out if you're missing travel like I was. 👀
P.S.: All 3 countries I've lived in abroad have been kingdoms for some reason, if 1 month also counts as living somewhere. 👑

Sometimes you just have to go for it and jump out Sometimes you just have to go for it and jump out of a plane! #throwbacks It's a lazy Sunday here after all the home renovation preparations this week, so today I finally had the time to write a new blog post.📝 This is one from the bucket list about the time back in 2017 when I went skydiving in Australia and it was absolutely amazing - link in bio as always. 😱 Have you ever been skydiving and would you like to?

Back in 2019 B.C19, when adventures still meant tr Back in 2019 B.C19, when adventures still meant travelling and not books, I went hiking to Trolltunga.👣 It was probably the most 'fit' thing I've ever done, because I'm not much of a hiker or sports enthusiast as some of you already know, but I do hike when it's worth it and this one definitely was. It took me 10 hours altogether and 2 more years to finally post the blog post, but it's up now, so come read if you feel like reliving this adventure with me.😉 Link in bio as always. What's your attitude towards hiking?
