My partner and I finally live in our forever home, but we had to renovate it first. In short, we have moved into the upper floor of his parents’ house in old town Ljubljana and made it into a separate flat with its own entrance (still a work in progress at the moment). Since this home renovation has been a huge project in my life and we did a lot of the work ourselves due to financial constraints and picky personal taste, I wanted to share it with you as well. It has been extra fun because it is an old house from the 1600s, so here’s to the joys of DIY and to everything always taking longer than expected!
Milestones
- START: We started discussing the plans in spring 2021, but the first real step was tearing down the old kitchen on the 18th of August 2021.
- THE MOVE: 14th of June 2022 – Good news everyone, we have moved into our new home!
