Erratic Engineeress turns 4 years old today!
It feels as if I’ve just walked through a revolving door right back into another 18th of February, because it definitely does not feel like a year has passed since my last blog anniversary – read the third anniversary post here. As I’ve mentioned several times before, my partner and I have been renovating our new home for more than a year now, so I am happy to say that we have been living in it since June 2022 and that the kitchen and bathroom are now functional and mainly done. Woohoo! Feels like more good things are coming our way.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for my PhD or this blog, as the former is still not done and the latter hasn’t been updated much in the past year. I did manage a couple of posts here and I am very pleased with that, but my offline life will of course always take priority over my online one. I did however manage to fully renovate the blog a few days ago and I hope you like the new look. 🙂 WordPress decided to retire the previous design theme I was using, so I was forced to do some housekeeping here as well.
If I am being completely honest, it has been a rather difficult year on a personal level. Despite being careful, I managed to burn myself out due to everything that has gone wrong with the home renovation process, work stress, PhD expectations and so on, so I had to take some serious introspective action to get myself back on track. However, I feel that I was successful and my fingers are itching to write something other than scientific papers again, so I think it’s safe to say that I will be posting more again here.
Therefore I would like to thank you all for sticking with me even though this blog hasn’t been very active this year. I really appreciate all the views, likes, comments, social media messages, emails and any other sort of engagement with my content. I know how precious your time is, because I know how little I have of mine, so it means a lot that you choose to spend it here and I look forward to reading all of your thoughts on my future posts.
I will be dropping by all the blogs and social media accounts that I like to keep up with a bit more again, so fellow creators, look out for my comments too and of course check out my Friends’ corner if you need recommendations for other people to follow. I also know that a lot of you are curious to know the full story of our home renovation that you’ve been seeing on my Instagram stories, so I hope to show you the completed sections of our home and explain what we have been up to soon.
