Erratic engineeress

A personal blog fuelled by caffeine and curiosity.

The two E-words

I recently learned that the English language does in fact have a word for female engineers like me: an engineeress.

From Your Dictionary.

Apparently the word is dated, almost archaic, so I figured, let’s bring it back into everyday use, shall we? I am particularly glad it at least exists in English, since the Slovenian equivalent of the female mechanical engineer form directly translates into a machine gun (bitches be crazy).

And, since I’ve noticed a lot of my friends were unsure about the meaning of erratic, I am including that too. I guess reading a lot of fantasy books in English paid of in strange vocabulary, and I just love alliteration.
